It was a relaxing morning with some lovely ladies for company and I enjoyed it. The instruction was good, but I think the class is a little expensive for what it is considering the need to bring all your own materials and being outside in a public space.

Mona Bayat
I am a non-representational abstract painter, with a strong focus on colour relationships and texture. My paintings are about life experiences and ideas about art. My paintings are an expression of colour and they are associated with emotional connections. I am inspired by Cy Twombly, William de Kooning, and Aida Tomescu. My project has developed from an interest in symbolic representation to a purely non-representational approach. This has allowed me to explore the conceptual meaning of colour theory and the intersection of emotion and rational thought. I use acrylic paint on canvas and experiment with applying the paint in varied ways with brushes, squeegees, rags and palette knives. I am also fascinated with the texture of the paint, adding calcium carbonate, wood shavings and sand to change the viscosity of the paint and the surface qualities. For each painting, I experiment with colour to create a harmonious palette. These paintings allow the viewer to experience exaggerated gestural brushstrokes through wash of colour and gain an overall sense of balance and harmony. I believe that abstract painting should not necessarily have any story to tell. In this way sometimes the viewer finds what the painting is about.
Isabelle Fleay
Isabelle is 22 years old and has lived in Perth since 2020, originally from the coastal town of Geraldton! She has always had a great passion for art where she was first inspired to create as young as 6 years old! Over the years she began to paint the Geraldton lighthouse with acrylics and got private lessons on the side to increase her skills! She enjoyed art during school where some of her works got selected to be displayed in galleries! After high school as she moved to Perth she began to develop her artistic talents and dive into watercolours and that was her happy place! Painting outlined portraits, animals like turtles, whales, elephants and more, flowers and bumble bees and all sorts - she loved the flow and tranquility that comes from watercolour painting. She is also experienced in texture art where she has many works of coastal paintings on her Instagram account @loveizzy.designs!

If she's not painting a new textured landscape or a watercolour piece, she's reading her beloved fantasy books or hanging out with friends! (Besides working her 9-5 that is!) She also loves teaching where she currently working with kids and would love for people of all ages to come along to her first few lessons over the next couple of months to show your support!

Isabelle Fleay is available for private bookings

Available Sundays 9 am onwards.

Watercolour or textured landscape lessons available. Can also do face painting for kids :)

I lived on the Murray River for many years. I would kayak the water ways often as there were many small islands I could weave through. From my home when I paddled towards the west there were two routes I could take to get out onto the estuary, to the left of a small island or to the right. Some evenings the river would be bathed in the most beautiful sunsets , I remember the beauty and serenity of these moments , the stillness , beautiful bird life, sounds and the reflections on the wat

Title or Location: Dream owl
My granddaughter was having a few nightmares so I made her a collage dream owl to watch over her. Most of the hand cut paper used was coloured by her. The right wing of the owl represents how we think life is going to turn out, fairly uniform, the left wing is how life actually turns out messy and unmatched. As long as your heart is open and loving you will have a wonderful life. His beak has a message to let her know he's watching over her when she sleeps. The tree has magical moonflowers.
