It was a relaxing morning with some lovely ladies for company and I enjoyed it. The instruction was good, but I think the class is a little expensive for what it is considering the need to bring all your own materials and being outside in a public space.

I am a non-representational abstract painter, with a strong focus on colour relationships and texture. My paintings are about life experiences and ideas about art. My paintings are an expression of colour and they are associated with emotional connections. I am inspired by Cy Twombly, William de Kooning, and Aida Tomescu. My project has developed from an interest in symbolic representation to a purely non-representational approach. This has allowed me to explore the conceptual meaning of colour theory and the intersection of emotion and rational thought. I use acrylic paint on canvas and experiment with applying the paint in varied ways with brushes, squeegees, rags and palette knives. I am also fascinated with the texture of the paint, adding calcium carbonate, wood shavings and sand to change the viscosity of the paint and the surface qualities. For each painting, I experiment with colour to create a harmonious palette. These paintings allow the viewer to experience exaggerated gestural brushstrokes through wash of colour and gain an overall sense of balance and harmony. I believe that abstract painting should not necessarily have any story to tell. In this way sometimes the viewer finds what the painting is about.

Title or Location: Serenity of the Blushing Bloom
This watercolor painting of a water lily is special to me, both as an artist and as a teacher. I?ve always been drawn to the quiet beauty of water lilies, especially how the soft pink petals stand out against the rich greens of the leaves. The way these colors naturally complement each other creates a soothing feeling that I wanted to capture on paper. As I worked on this piece, I found myself paying close attention to how light plays on the flower and its surroundings, learning how to use sh

Hello, My name is Sandra Sanchez. The background on this particular art piece is quite interesting . I had just gotten a new sketch pad, and I wanted the first page to eye opening. I wanted a piece from the heart, something my audience would feel. I wanted this pic to be something I would feel every time I felt like giving up . I lost my older, and only brother to cancer. Shortly after , I lost my Grandmother who raised me suddenly. Each day is a struggle without my brother, and my Nana . I love

Title or Location: Mountain Top Splendor
Years ago, while hiking in the Sierra, I came across an old abandoned church - literally in the middle of nowhere. It seemed odd, out of place. I even knocked on it to make sure I wasn't imagining it. Ever since I've had a fascination for old abandoned places and the stories they could tell. As I work on a painting like this one, Mountain Top Splendor, I usually can't help developing a story about it. The home was once occupied by a veteran of the great war, who sough peace and serenity with his
